Registration
Registration for HWBI 2017 is now open. HWBI registration is managed through the ISB Congress. There are two registration options to choose from: 1) single day registration if you only plan to stay one day, or 2) full meeting registration that covers all ISB and HWBI events. To register, please visit http://www.biomech2017.com/registration.php. It is recommended that you register early to take advantage of reduced rates. Additionally, you may consider joining ISB prior to registering for the meeting so as to be eligible for the ISB Member Rates. To become a member of ISB, go to https://isbweb.org/members/subscriptions-and-renewals. Registration
Scholarship Awards
The Hand and Wrist Biomechanics International (HWBI) announces the availability of four Scholarships for the 2017 HWBI Meeting in conjunction with the International Society of Biomechanics Meeting. Scholarship Awards
HWBI Scholarship Award information and selection criteria: Four HWBI scholarship awards (US$500 each) are available to students, residents and fellows. The scholarships are sponsored by the International Society of Biomechanics (ISB), by the Hand and Wrist Biomechanics International, and by the William H. Seitz, M.D. Research Fund. All trainees in one of the above categories who request to be considered will be evaluated for one of these scholarships. Awards will be made based on the quality of the research, as judged by the abstracts. The ISB Award will be given to the highest ranking abstract among ISB members under consideration. Announcement of the awards will be made prior to the meeting.
The 2015 HWBI Award Winners were: (1) Joseph N. Gabra, USA - Three-dimensional stiffness of the wrist structure (ISB-Sponsored Award Recipient). (2) Benjamin Goislard de Monsabert, France - Estimation of subject-specific muscle capacities for musculoskeletal modeling of the hand and the wrist. (3) Faes D. Kerkhof, Belgium - In vivo analysis of joint function using dynamic CT. (4) Giovanni F. Solitro, USA - Boutonniere Deformity Mechanics Captured and Defined Using Finite Element Methods.
